“I bought this tour via Viator before arriving Cusco just to be on the safe side and paid $78 for the tour thinking that this is the standard rate/tour provides higher quality lunch, etc. On the day of the tour, I learned that everyone else on the tour paid max of $24... The quality tour was not good either... The guide spoke Spanish mostly, did not provide guidance about the structure of the tour, etc. When I reached out to Viator about this issue and the unfair price, they did not help me at all... This felt like a complete rip off. I was truly frustrated. Overall, do not buy…”

“Excellent value for the money we paid. Beto was a great guide, very patient with us, kept us well informed, and made sure no one was left behind. I highly recommend him as your guide. Warning: This is a medium-level hike. However, when we were there, one of the paths collapsed due to rain, and we had to go through a very dangerous downhill section and then climb back up. I truly enjoyed the hike, the lake, and the tour guide, but it is important to be aware that this risk exists. Please keep this in mind when choosing this excursion so there are no surprises.”

“One of the most amazing places I have seen in my life. I recommend getting accustomed to the elevation of Cusco before attempting this hike. We were in Ollantaytambo and then went to Cusco prior to this hike and I still was quite winded going up. Once we got there though it was all worth it. “Super cool adventure that is so worth the long day. Get a taste of Peru outside of Cusco and take on an awesome hike. 6.1 miles in & out hike with an awesome guide. The long drive is worth it. Bring snacks and soles. We did not use the horse and chose to hike with our guide, Cesar. He was wonderful and took a lot of breaks to let us catch our breath. I don’t recommend this if you have kids as it is very strenuous but so worth it. Breakfast and lunch is nothing amazing but delicious. Super friendly people along the way.”

“The view was amazing but I was not prepared for how long and taxing the hike was. The elevation makes it difficult obviously but it takes a good 2hrs. Plus I signed up for the English tour, however the rest of my group spoke Spanish. Freddy the tour guide did a GREAT job trying to include me and was very knowledgeable however was not the day I expected.”
