“We had a splendid time during this tour! Our guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We felt very much like being in good hands. We saw many monkeys, birds, butterflies, even sloths, etc. After we left we had the feeling we had done every activity that you can do in the area. Our favourite part was the trip to Sandoval Lake where we saw also a cayman, monkeys and many many bird species. The lodge was great. Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. They were also flexible with the food. We had forgotten to mention that one of us doesn’t eat any fish. They gave us some vegetarian food…”

“Great food and clean accommodations. Very easy pick up and drop off from the airport and all the transportation went very smoothly. We had wonderful weather and did everything on the itinerary. We saw plenty of birds monkeys Caymans. All in all was a very great experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get a taste of the Amazon without anything to extreme. Beware though the treetop hike is quite high if you have a fear of heights!”

A few tips for review readers I would have liked to have read. 1) They suggest you leave your bigger bags and just take small rucksacks but most other guests had their entire bag. 2) You’re likely to get wet when canoeing so bring extra clothes. 3) They limit electricity in the rooms so recommend a charging bank for electronics. 4) Binoculars and cameras were a good to have but not essential. 5) They have unlimited free drinking water, well priced snacks and drinks (ours took card) and plenty of food at meal…”

“La hora de quedada era a las 9h pero el guía llegó tarde 15min. Luego, estuvimos esperando casi otra hora más hasta coger la primera lancha. El tour consistió en un paseo de unos 30-45min hasta el embarcadero del Lago Sandoval, el paseo en barca por el lago y la vuelta. Lo único que mereció realmente la pena fue el paseo en barca por el lago, a pesar de no ver demasiada fauna, fue muy placentero. Quedé bastante decepcionado porque no vimos caimanes ni nutrias, parece ser que es poco común verlos. En las imágenes del tour se ven lugares que no visitamos, lo cual me parece un engaño.”

Ahead of our trip there was a horrendous downpour and we were unsure if the trip would go ahead but Jesus communicated with us through WhatsApp and we were able to arrange to go, just slightly later. Jesus picked us up in his Tuk-tuk and drove us to lake yacumama (with a few stops along the way to pick up rods/bate.) Once there we set off in the boats and both caught piranhas! After, we were taken on a boat ride around the lake to see the macaws returning to the lake…”
