“Go on your own! Do not book with a guide! BRING LOTS OF SNACKS. The bus broke down on the way to the canyon and we waited an hour with the bus door open, temperature was 8 degrees Celsius. The guide refused to tell anyone what was going on until the other bus arrived. We got to the canyon and went our own speed to the bottom. The guide did not check in, nor give us recommendations on speed, how many km ahead, incline and descent. You have to have experience hiking to complete this trek!!! We waited for the other hikers for 45 minutes as we could not pass…”

“I personally don’t think this trip is worth the time. The canyon by itself is a disappointment especially considering the published information and the guide both tell you that this is much deeper than the Grand Canyon in the US. Also, the condors that are talked about are a hit and miss. It’s probably exciting for trekkers but not when you’re driven there. Besides the canyon, the rest of the stops are also not interesting. The trip starts at the unearthly hour of 3 AM and at the end of the day, we returned very tired and disappointed.”

“My 3 days hike was a pleasant experience. First two days we reached our destination before lunch and could enjoy and relax. Our tour guide, Will, was attentive and shared his knowledge about fauna of the canyon along with history, traditions and challenges of the valley. The 3rd day was quite a challenge. Early start and a steep climb to the top of the canyon. Overall, very happy with the experience that ended in hot springs and a short stop in a national reserve to see lamas, alpacas.”
